Instructors: Amanda Stone, Frank Mitchell and Rick Van de Poll

We'll start the workshop at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center with some introductory presentations. We will then move into the field to conduct a field evaluation at a wetland in Center Harbor, just a few minutes from the Science Center. Scroll to the agenda below.

Directions: From Interstate-93 (North and South)
Take exit 24 (Ashland/Holderness exit)
Travel on Route 3 South (approximately 4 miles)
Turn left onto Route 113; our driveway is 200 yards on the left.

We'll start the workshop at the Old Town Hall in Bow with some introductory presentations. We will then move into the field to conduct a wetland field evaluation at a wetland a couple of minutes from the Town Hall.  Scroll to the agenda below.

Directions: From Interstate-93 (North and South), take the exit for
I-89 north. Take Exit 1 to Bow/Logging Hill Road. Turn right onto South Street. Continue onto Logging Hill Road. Continue straight onto Bow Center Road. The Old Town Hall is on the left (approximately 2.9 miles from exit 1 off I-89).

Using the NH Method data sheets and NH Wetlands Mapper maps

You’ll learn what’s new with the NH Method, the NEW! NH Wetlands Mapper, wetland functions and values, and wetland ecology.

Afternoon refreshments (juice and cookies) will be provided

What to bring: Clothing appropriate for any predicted weather, waterproof boots/old sneakers, clipboard, pencil with eraser, sunscreen, bug spray, personal drinking water. Be prepared for damp, muddy conditions.
